SOAR (Students for Oncological Aid and Relief)

Crystal Wang is a 17 year old Asian-American musician, entrepreneur, and social activist from Houston, TX. She is passionate about issues in women’s equality, health & awareness, & spreading kindness to everyone. Crystal started her musical journey performing at age 3 at a local Chinese Festival. Her love for music led her to release a debut album, “Sincerely,” with 13 original songs, win 1st place in The Voice of China (US Region), & perform all across the country.

In 2015, Crystal’s cousin was diagnosed with cancer. Crystal was motivated to help not only her own family, but also the community around her. She then founded her own nonprofit organization, SOAR, aiding cancer patients throughout the nation.

At school, Crystal is an executive member of Student Council, constantly fundraising for events and positively influencing her peers. She started an annual Kindness Week based off her social movement #ipicklove that inspires youths to be positive, confident, and kind to everyone
