Michele Seymour
Michele Seymour is a life-long New Orleans resident with nine years of experience in Adult Education and Youth Development. She currently works as a Transition Services Coordinator at the Youth Empowerment Project (YEP) leading the college readiness program, Transition Services. Michele supports adult learners with navigating post-secondary education and fosters a college-going environment at the organization. She has supported over 190 first-time college students in her tenure at YEP. Michele regularly showcases best practices in the adult education classroom, building program capacity, and improving participant retention. In addition to her work at YEP, Michele serves as the Regional Representative of the Louisiana Association for Public, Community, and Adult Education (LAPCAE), and serves as the Associate Director of Project Butterfly, an African-centered rite of passage program for young girls of color. She received a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Loyola University in 2010.
