Karen Reyes

Karen Reyes is a Special Education teacher in the Austin area where she has been teaching pre-K age children who are deaf or hard of hearing for the past 4 years. She currently serves on the Executive Board for Education Austin, her local union. Karen is also a leader with United We Dream Austin and the Young Active Labor Leaders (YALL). She has spent the last couple of years actively advocating for immigrant rights both in and out of schools. As an undocumented educator, who benefits from DACA, she knows the realities and struggles that students and their families face.
