An entrepreneur, speaker, director, and writer, Mike has been a public school English teacher for more than 20 years. He's directed dozens of theatre productions (Antigone, West Side Story, Measure For Measure, Rent, Into the Woods, The Laramie Project) written scores of articles about education/art/politics/cocktails, and graded thousands of essays written by teenagers. He's been invited to speak about teacher-led innovation around the country and overseas.
He's currently serving as CEO and Chief Teacher Officer at DegreeCast, a company that is building an intuitive & powerful search tool for higher education.
Kleba is also the co-author of The Otherfull Papers, an earnest and irreverent book about the power and promise of great principals, superintendents, and department leaders. Written with Dr. Ryan O'Hara, it's the first book written by a teacher and an administrator about educational leadership that won't bore the hell out of you.
A boundary-pusher, Mike has hang glided in Brazil, bungee jumped in New Zealand, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, and run the NYC Marathon.
