The Importance of Preserving Languages

Everyday language planning and policies are happening around the globe. These decisions have major impact on all social contexts, including on the rights of individuals. We are dramatically losing languages. Every two weeks a language dies. During this session hear from Ministers of Education discussing the importance of language acquisition and preserving language. Communities need language, it is a vital channel for communication, culture, and socialization.
