Girls & the Maker Movement

What is the history of women and the maker movement? Is the maker movement important for girls’ education? Should girls be targeted for single-sex STEM and maker programs? Can the maker movement be more inclusive of women? If so, how can we make it more inclusive? In this session, educators will build an interactive historical timeline, debate the maker movement and its impact on girls’ achievement, and create an action plan for increasing inclusivity in the maker movement.
