Higher Ed Can Help Close the Gender Gap in Tech
If we want girls to be inspired to join the tech workforce, we need to design thoughtful programs that tear down the barriers that keep them from getting there. To help combat the gender gap in the tech-talent pipeline, the University of Nebraska at Omaha College of Information Science & Technology created an iSTEM immersion experience for 8th and 9th grade girls and their teachers. This talk will showcase what a program designed for girls can do to help diversify the tech talent pipeline.
