An effective principal accounts for 25% of a school's total impact on student outcomes. State and federal accountability solutions have not compelled instructional improvements at the rate and scale that advocates hoped for, and ensuring every school is led by a well-prepared and well-supported principal remains beyond our collective grasp. Participants will gain a fresh perspective on the problem by examining recent research from sociology, neuroscience, and organizational development.
