Melinda Schermerhorn

Raised in Austin, my father, a former migrant worker established an emphasis on education. I am a proud graduate of UT Austin
(Hook 'Em!)with a degree in Education and have a M.ED from Concordia, Austin in Differentiated Instruction. I am passionate about STEM education, inquiry learning and developing connections with all my students.My students arrive in my science class in August at ALL learning levels and it is my job to determine how they best learn and help them achieve success. I believe classrooms should be interactive, nurturing and hands on. Students should have opportunities to collaborate, think critically and learn content that is relevant to their world. I love networking with fellow educators via Twitter and enjoy facilitating training sessions at neighboring campuses on the integration of technology in the classroom.
