Jeff Meiners is a lecturer at the University of South Australia and has worked widely in schools and with artists to support dance development with urban and regional communities. Jeff led a dance in schools team in London, an Australian Dance Council outreach program, and directed movement for children’s theatre as well as working with arts and education organizations, dance companies and international projects. Jeff was Australia Council Dance Board’s Community Representative (2002-07), 2009 Australian Dance Award winner for Outstanding Services to Dance Education and dance writer for the Australian curriculum’s Arts Shape paper. Presentations include UNESCO’s World Conferences on Arts Education in Portugal and Korea, plus World Alliance for Arts Education conferences in Finland, Germany and Australia. Jeff has his MEd in Arts education with a Special Education focus. Jeff’s doctoral research investigates dance curriculum policy contexts of influence, text and practice.
