District Resource Teacher & Teacher Engagement
Jefferson County Public Schools

MeMe Ratliff is a district resource teacher in the Jefferson County Public Schools in Louisville, KY. Prior to leaving the classroom to engage the teachers in her district full time, MeMe taught PE and Health for 20 years. She attended her first teacher leadership event, an ECET2 (Elevating and Celebrating Effective Teaching and Teachers) event in January of 2014 and has been connecting the teachers in her state since. She has served on the Gates Foundation Teacher Advisory Council and on the National Executive Steering Committee with Gates Ed for their ECET2 work. She was a KY State Teacher Fellow with the Hope Street Group (she currently serves as the Statewide Engager). She currently leads the ECET2 work in KY. In 2015, she helped to found a district level organic teacher led engagement movement called JCPSForward. To date, they have hosted a variety of professional learning events and have engaged nearly 1/3 of the teachers in their district in positive, solutions oriented convos.
