Instructional Technology Specialist
Del Valle ISD

Sandi Castro is currently an Instructional Technology Specialist for Del Valle ISD. She joined the district technology team after 13 years of experience teaching prekindergarten through fifth grade special and general education. Her current initiatives are elementary robotics and core content technology integration. Sandi is an active Texas Parks and Wildlife Growing Up Wild Facilitator, providing hands-on training to area early elementary teachers interested in fostering students’ love for nature through core content connections to the environment. She serves as a member of the Texas Girls Collaborative Project Leadership Team and champions the Del Valle ISD Elementary Robotics program. Sandi was part of the Learn All the Time and Mozilla Foundation: Out of School Time Grant winning team, ensuring quality virtual after school violin lessons for district students. Sandi is currently a Curriculum & Instruction with a specialization in STEM PhD student at Texas Tech University.
