Javier Montiel
Javier Montiel studied Administrative Computer Systems at the Monterrey Institute of Technology in Mexico and has a Masters degree in Instructional Design and Technology from Full Sail University in Winter Park Florida. He has been at Brazosport ISD since 2004. His expertise in technology has helped students to become familiar with the latest emergent technologies in education. Mr. Montiel has been involved in several education projects with NASA and has presented innovative STEM conferences at the Space Exploration Educators Conference since 2012. He has promoted and coached staff and students from Mexico to compete in NASA STEM challenges to motivate high school and college students to test their knowledge and skills against other international teams. Javier has enjoyed the great honor of collaborating with staff and students from the Shimane University in Japan and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) Department of Education as well. He co-founded the Mexican Aerospace Academy to promote STEM programs for Mexican students.
