Elizabeth Lindsey is the Executive Director of Byte Back, a Washington, DC based nonprofit providing free tech and career training to adults. Under her leadership, Byte Back is earning national attention for helping people left out of the tech sector launch living-wage careers. Prior to joining Byte Back in 2015, Elizabeth served as the Chief Operating Officer of Groundswell. She oversaw its evolution from a start-up, community-based organization into a nationally-recognized social enterprise. After earning her master’s in public affairs and urban and regional planning from Princeton University, she led workforce development efforts for minorities and small women-owned businesses. Elizabeth serves on the Board of Directors of The Workplace DC, the Goodwill Excel Center, and The Engine Room. In 2017, she won WeWork’s $360,000 Creator Award pitch competition and was named a Tech Titan by the Washingtonian. She is also an Organizer for DC Tech Meetup, with 18,000 members.
