Malvika Bhagwat heads research and efficacy work at Newsela. At work, she spends a lot of her time thinking about how students learn and what are some tools and resources one can build to help them become lifelong readers. Prior to Newsela, Malvika worked in India where designed standardized assessments for 200k+ students across India & the Gulf countries to help identify prevalent gaps in student learning. She was also a founding member of Mindspark (English), an adaptive English language learning program for children in low SES communities in India.
