Mike Shebanek
Mike Shebanek leads Oath’s Accessibility Team (Oath is the new company formed by the acquisition by Verizon and the merger of AOL and Yahoo and all of the companies’ brands). His career in technology spans several decades in various roles including as an equipment repair technician, computer network designer, trainer, computer lab manager, author and technical salesperson. He spent 19 years at Apple during the “golden years” of Steve Jobs’ return. During that time he was a product manager for the original iMac, the original iPad, OS X for Intel processors, Boot Camp, Dashboard, iOS and eventually Accessibility, where he led the team that created VoiceOver for OS X and iOS. From 2004 to 2010 he directed Apple’s Accessibility program. This led to an extraordinary opportunity to help shape Yahoo’s (now Oath’s) world-class Accessibility Team from the ground up – one that deeply integrates accessibility into the new corporate cultures.
