Mr. Simpson has a long career in software and the sciences. He began as a video game programmer in the 1990s and then founded Mine-Control in 1999 which makes interactive exhibits for science and children's museums. In 2003 he joined the Center for System and Synthetic Biology at the University of Texas at Austin where he worked on diverse biology problems from single molecule kinetics to synthetic biology.
