Carrie Tupa
As Strategic Planning and Accountability Coordinator with the Texas Workforce Commission, Carrie Tupa works with leadership to ensure the alignment of practice to state and national, agency priorities, and best practices. Ms. Tupa oversees processes for statewide collection and analysis of program performance data as well as the design and rollout for K-16 initiatives.
Prior to joining TWC, Dr. Tupa was a principle developer and implementer of the I-BEST initiative at the Alamo Colleges, developing innovative approaches to strategic initiatives for under skilled students. Dr. Tupa began her career in education teaching middle school math in the Bushwick area of Brooklyn, NY, building math comprehension for her students through the integration of writing into the math classroom.
Dr. Tupa holds a Bachelor’s in Communication Arts from Marymount Manhattan, a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education from St. John’s University, a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Austin.
