Martinez has been working professionally in the intersection of technology, learning, and a more justice-oriented and equitable future in Pittsburgh since 2010. She has traveled the world building relationships to develop this work including most recently to the UN to workshop the Education Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Artificial Intelligence. This has meant deep community work (regionally and across the country); catalytic work supporting hundreds of community organizations and schools; and communicating to thousands of listeners and readers all over the world about the future of learning being remade in Pittsburgh, PA (and across the country). Martinez has helped shape partnerships with city government and meetings at the White House (Rec2Tech Pittsburgh), and facilitates community-based conversations bringing together schools, higher ed, OST, private industry and more to examine the intersection of teaching and learning in a time of rapid technological and social change.
