Raechel has spent the past seven years researching and planning educational spaces. She earned a B.E.D. in Architecture and a B.S. in Psychology from Texas A&M University and a Masters in Human-Environment Relations from Cornell University. She spent 2017 as a Fulbright Postgraduate Scholar working on the Innovative Learning Environments and Teacher Change research project through the University of Melbourne in Australia. There, she completed case studies on the transition process schools are taking from traditional, cells and bells facilities to more student-centered learning in multi-modal spaces. Raechel is continuing this research as she pursues a PhD through the University of Melbourne Graduate School of Education, focusing on the integration of organizational alignment and teacher professional learning with the design process. She also works as a K12 Education Planner with DLR Group in Austin, TX.
