Deb has 14 years of general and special education teaching experience in urban and suburban settings. As a special education teacher, her experiences ranged from self-contained to co-taught classrooms. She is working toward her Ph.D. in Special Education at the University of Illinois, Chicago which she will complete in May 2018. Her research interests lie in exploring the supports administrators provide to co-teachers in the inclusive classroom. She hopes to improve the implementation of the co-teaching service delivery option to better support students with disabilities and also to improve the supports provided to co-teachers. Deb is currently an adjunct professor in the Special Education department at National Louis University, in the area of teacher preparation and teaches a wide range of graduate courses. She is also the Program Coordinator for the Alternative Licensure Program. In her free time, she is an avid White Sox fan and loves to ride her bike along the lakefront.
