Roberto Altamirano

Mr. Roberto Altamirano migrated to the US when he was 12 years old from Honduras. During his early years, he attended the Jersey City Public School's Bilingual programs. After graduating college he became a Bilingual Teacher servicing students in the Dual Language and Bilingual programs. Mr. Altamirano is currently a Supervisor of Bilingual/ESL/WL Programs. He believes that there is a great interest in increasing achievement for ELL/SWD in the realm of STEM because many districts are focusing on equity. In addition, there is research indicating that ELL’s are not given the chance to participate in STEM initiatives.
