Maker Program Dir
Reading Is Fundamental

Nora is an artist, maker, educator, and Pittsburgh enthusiast currently living above the library where she works. As the Maker Program Director, she plans, facilitates, schedules, and teaches all of the library maker programs for learners ages 2-92. The kids call her Ms. Nora, but most of the time she's just that lady who never leaves the library. She began creating book-based maker prompts in 2017 as a way to get the kids who hang out in the maker space pick up a book and read. While still relatively small, the Picture Book Maker Craft Project is one of her many side gigs.
In her "free" time, Nora is a freelance illustrator, fabric and yarn hoarder, and a cofounder of the yarn-dyeing business Stitch Party. She dreams of opening a community arts program in Millvale, where local artists and makers come together to teach kids and adults how to create. In the mean time she's working on growing her collection of jars full of craft acoutrements.
