Will McGuinness leads Columbia University’s social media strategy, which aims to connect the world to new knowledge generated from the stars of Columbia’s classrooms, libraries and research labs. Will has developed social media strategies that refreshed the university’s approaches to digital fundraising, student support, recruiting, events management, media relations, and more.
Before joining Columbia, Will led growth and editorial strategy for Odyssey, a millennial-centric digital publication that has grown to cover 12,000 communities and reach 30 million monthly readers. Before that, he was the senior editor of Huffington Post College and Huffington Post Education. His writing has appeared in the Boston Globe, The Advocate magazine, CBS News and many regional publications.
He received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a master’s degree in information and knowledge strategy from Columbia University.
