Casey Agena
Casey Agena an education consultant for Haumana Ventures and Catalyst:ED, focused on edtech procurement, Computer Science K-12, and product development. He is also and Instructional Technology Manager at the Santa Clara County Office of Education in Silicon Valley. He previously, he worked at Silicon Valley Education Foundation (San Jose) and at Punahou School (Honolulu, Hawaii). He has taught in the San Francisco Unified School District and worked in Newton Public Schools (MA). His passions include: Inquiry-based learning through tackling “real world problems,” implementation of Design Thinking and attacking the Digital Divide. In particular, he enjoys bringing a maker-mindset curricular interfaces to K-12 students and teachers (from engineering to molecular gastronomy). Casey is a graduate of Purdue University (BA), Boston College (M Ed.) and University of Southern California (Ed. D). When he’s not working, he can be found painting with his children, surfing, snapping or tweeting about the Boston Red Sox.
