Dr. Sebastian Kraves co-founded the Cambridge-based start-up miniPCR to help bring DNA analysis technology to the masses. He is also a co-founder of Genes in Space, an innovation challenge engaging high school students in space biology. Kraves was previously a principal at BCG, where he spent more than six years working on health care technology challenges, such as how to make molecular diagnostics accessible in sub-Saharan Africa. Dr. Kraves first studied biology at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. He obtained his doctorate in neurobiology from Harvard Medical School, where he studied the genetic regulation of circadian behaviors, and later conducted postdoctoral research in optogenetics at Harvard University. He is now focused on his dream to make modern science tools accessible to everyone, everywhere.
