Sixten Sandstrom
Sixten Sandström is today enrolled as the principal director at SFV. In his position as the chief operating officer for the NGO he carries the responsibility for the development and innovation of the ongoing and future activities. Predominantly work is related to adult education where online learning and various blended learning solutions are in focus.
With extensive experience developing strategic alliances and partnerships, and a proven ability to increase global product reach and boost profits for client companies operating in a range of industries he is regarded as an invaluable resource and thought leader.Today Sixten works as a Principal Director at one of the most prominent NGO/NPO's in Finland called SFV. In this role he oversees the national initiatives for adult education as well as the international projects that SFV is involved in.
He earned a master’s degree in Humanities from Åbo Akademi in Finland with additional certification for EU Wide principal positions (1989). Additionally, Sixten holds MBA in Leadership and Sustainability from the University of Cumbria (2014).Sixten has excellent project management capabilities and a knack for aligning a company’s products and services with present and future market needs. He has in-depth knowledge of best practices for leading public and private sector transformation initiatives and closing challenging licensing negotiations.
Sixten credits his success to excellent leadership skills and ability to motivate employees through times of uncertainty. He is enrolled as a ProBono Mentor for Suomen Mentorit r.y., where he helps guide and support young university graduates to find their career path. For 4 years he served on the Board of Trustees for the Kvarnbackens skola, Borgå. Currently sits on the board for the e-learning platform www.eliademy.com
