Joseph South

Joseph South is the chief innovation officer at ISTE, the International Society for Technology in Education. He is an internationally-recognized educational technology leader focused on evidence-based learning transformation and leads initiatives that include providing professional learning for educators and students to design artificial intelligence applications, identifying quality indicators for ed tech solutions that lead to better buying decisions, and certifying educators in the ISTE Standards. He formerly served as director of the Office of Educational Technology at the U.S. Department of Education, where he advised the Secretary, developed national educational technology policy, and formed public-private partnerships to assist education leaders in transitioning to digital learning
