Leon Vanstone

Leon Vanstone (Ph.D.) serves on the board of the Dumpster Project (dumpsterproject.org), an educational initiative and living experiment that aims to turn a trash dumpster into a home as a learning platform for children and adults alike. Leon is also a Research Associate with the University of Texas at Austin Department of Aerospace Engineering where he works in physics and control of shock dominated flows; for want of a better two word explanation, Leon is a rocket scientist. Leon has a passion for communicating science: he has given several TEDx talks, had work featured by New Republic and the Huffington Post, and he currently volunteers as a science engagement coordinator for the Dumpster Project. Leon is also a member of the Austin Global Shapers and an agenda contributor for the World Economic Forum.
