Nekosi Nelson
Nekosi Nelson holds degrees in finance from Morehouse College and an MBA from the Yale School of Management. In his experience working in the D.C. Public School System, Friendship Charter Schools, D.C. Promise Neighborhood Institute, and more, Nekosi has been able to combine a rigorous focus on evidence and process with an understanding of the systems and context around poverty-related challenges. In his role as Vice President of Programs and Evaluation at Common Threads, Nekosi manages the program and evaluation team located in nine cities, cultivates formal partnerships and cross-sector collaborations, sources innovations around organizational alignment and improved program delivery, and leads coordinated strategic activities and organizational priorities. Nekosi Nelson continues his dedication to changing the life trajectory of young people in the education and youth development sector with demonstrated success at the district, school, and community levels.
