Julie Schell
Julie Schell is the Assistant Dean for Instructional Continuity and Innovation and an Assistant Professor of Practice in the College of Fine Arts at UT Austin. She led the transition to online learning for over 1600 arts and design students and 200 faculty during the CoVID-19 pandemic. She also designed and led several college-wide pedagogy initiatives to mobilize anti-racist and inclusive pedagogy in the College. Julie is an award-winning expert in teaching and learning with 21 years of experience in education. She teaches graduate courses on design pedagogy and design thinking at UT Austin. Before coming to Austin, Julie taught graduate courses on diversity in higher education at Teachers College, Columbia University, where she completed her doctorate. Julie also served as Post-Doctoral Fellow in The Eric Mazur Group at Harvard University from 2009-2013.
