Jeremy Chan-Kraushar

Jeremy Chan-Kraushar is the Director of Implicit Bias Education and Culturally Responsive Education for the Office of Equity and Access at the NYC Department of Education. He has coordinated, managed, and developed multiple initiatives for the NYC Department of Education including Connected Foundations, Digital Ready, and the Mastery Collaborative.

As the co-founder of the Mastery Collaborative, he is committed to the concept that competency education can be more culturally responsive for students. Implemented together, he believes school districts can increase educational equity, particularly for students of color and low-income students historically marginalized by traditional paradigms of education.

Jeremy began his career as an English and Math teacher in a public middle/high school in Brooklyn. He has a BA from Bowdoin College, a M.Ed, Special Education from Hunter College, a MPA from Indiana University’s School for Environmental and Public Affairs, and is currently studying at CUNY School of Law focusing on Education and Civil Rights.
