Carolina Carner is an educator of eighteen years teaching both sixth and seventh grade science. She received a B.S. in Biology from Texas A&M - Corpus Christi. Dorothy McConachie's picked Carolina to be in her Top Texas Teachers book. She has been an educational consultant for Quizalize/Zzish appearing in videos for their company. The University of Texas's Alien Rescue program has used Carolina's instructional videos on their Alien Rescue website. She has been a panelist at the Math and Science Expo for RRISD. Mrs. Carner is a leader in technology formative assessment and differentiation strategies. She has been asked to teach gifted and talented teachers at the the district level and staff development at the campus level over tech apps and differentiation. She just started her own You Tube channel called Nerdy Teacher Tech Talk which focuses on great technology tools for the classroom and how to use them effectively. She was nominated for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Math and Science last year. Carolina has been using Google Expeditions VR and most recently AR in her classroom and has been developing lessons on TES for both. She most recently was announced Teacher of the Year for Chisholm Trail Middle School for 2017-2018 school year.
