Melissa Taboada is the K-12 public education reporter for the Austin American-Statesman, covering 15 school districts and their governing boards in and around the Texas capital. She has been a reporter for more than 20 years, and has spent the bulk of her career covering schools, districts’ budgets and Texas education laws, including school finance.
