Supporting Refugee Students
The world is currently experiencing unprecedented levels of human displacement. Globally, 21.3 million people are refugees—half of them under 18 years old. Each year, thousands of these refugee youth are enrolled in U.S. school. Most have had disrupted education—many have never stepped foot in a classroom and all are English language learners. This Campfire seeks to discuss the question: how do we effectively meet the needs of this growing population in schools already strained for resources?
