Quick Bio

HawaH is an author, yogi, non-profit leader, and social entrepreneur. He is the co-founder and executive director of One Common Unity, a non-profit organization that inspires a culture of non-violence through music and arts. In the past, he has served as youth representative to the U.N. World Conference Against Racism and as Director of Peaceable Schools at the largest public high school in Washington, DC.
HawaH has been interviewed for his innovative approaches to peace building by multiple media sites, including CNN, BBC, Al-Jazeera, and XM National Satellite radio. He has authored 4 books, produced 3 documentary films, 2 musical CDs, and is the creator/ editor of “The Poetry of Yoga” book anthology that features Grammy award winning musicians and master teachers. His latest collaborative documentary film project, “Fly By Light,” has received wide acclaim, awards, and toured 16 international film festivals.
In his spare time he enjoys: finding new foods to mix with chocolate, climbing trees and buildings, doing handstands on furniture, hiking through mountains with flip flops, body surfing ocean waves, making animal sounds and bird calls, enjoying a glass of wine at high altitude, lighting candles in dark rooms and traveling.
