Gooru - VP of Programs
Gina Morris is the Vice President of Programs at Gooru, an edtech nonprofit located in Redwood City, California. She works with a team of educators, engineers and product designers to provide open educational resources, formative assessments and real-time data and analytics to K-12 educators and students across the country and around the globe. Gina's past work includes the Girard Education Foundation, where she supported public school districts and public charter schools in improving personalized instruction. Prior to her work with Girard, Gina served as the Curriculum and Product Design Director for Challenge Success, a research-based organization begun at Stanford University. There she oversaw curriculum and course development, facilitator training, and a lecture series that provided educators and parents with current research in the fields of mental health and best practices for teaching and learning. She has been working in the field of education for 18 years, and her professional experience also includes environmental education, design and implementation of teacher professional development programs, and classroom teaching in grades 3 through 6. Gina is a graduate of Stanford University’s Graduate School of Education, where she earned a Master’s degree in Policy, Organization and Leadership Studies. She currently lives in Berkeley with her husband, Jason, and their 2 year-old-daughter.
