The University of Texas at Austin - Exec Dir Pre-College Academic Readiness Programs
Dr. Eric Dieter is the Executive Director for the Pre-College Academic Readiness Programs in The University of Texas at Austin's Division of Diversity and Community Engagement. He has been part of the DDCE since 2009. In addition to his daily work of building and delivering college courses for students attending high schools underrepresented in higher education, his work for the DDCE includes strategic planning for and assessment of the PreK-to-PhD educational pipeline. He is also involved in the development of a similar STEM pipeline, and the DiscoverLaw PLUS Program. He teaches courses in UT's Department of English and Department of Rhetoric and Writing. His research looks at the rhetorical relationships between political candidates and voters, and more broadly at how perceptions of authenticity shape public rhetoric. A Midwestern transplant, he has lived in Austin since 2001.
