Lexington School District Three - Superintendent
Ralph Schmidt has been in education for 38 years. He received his undergraduate degree in Health Physical Education and Recreation from Lander University in 1979 and started his teaching career as a physical education teacher and coach upon graduation. He received his Master’s Degree in Administration from the University of South Carolina and left the classroom after 11 years to pursue administration. He has served as a middle school principal as well as a high school principal in Richland School District Two in South Carolina. He had the honor of opening a brand new high school, Westwood High. While at Westwood, he lead the faculty in exploring project-based learning. Ralph is now currently serving as the Assistant Superintendent for personnel and administration in Lexington School District Three. Ralph is a dedicated volunteer for Camp Kemo. He is the proud father of two young women, and he has two beautiful grandchildren who have become the driving force is his life. He loves to spend time with friends hunting and fishing, and he is excited to share these experiences with his grandchildren as they grow, including a third grandchild on the way!
