Betsie Becker is the Managing Director of Global K-12 Programs at The Juilliard School and oversees the development of global K-12 curricula initiatives, including the innovative collaboration between Juilliard and Nord Anglia Education. Betsie returns to The Juilliard School after 9 years at Carnegie Hall serving as a founding administrator for Ensemble Connect, a two-year fellowship program between Carnegie Hall and Juilliard, for the finest young professional musicians who are passionate about integrating education, community engagement, and advocacy into their performing careers. In addition to producing concerts for Ensemble Connect at Carnegie Hall and other venues around New York City, Betsie designed creative music residencies, collaborating with arts organizations around the world, and has led artist residencies in Abu Dhabi, Germany, India, Mexico, Japan, South Africa and Spain. Through a grant from the U.S. Department of State, she also lead a 3-year project that included an exchange between New York City musicians, and musicians, music teachers and arts administrators in both Mexico City and Mumbai. Prior to Carnegie Hall, Betsie has also served as Arts Administrator for the Aspen Opera Theatre Center with the Aspen Music Festival and School for 4 seasons, and was the Associate Administrative Director of the Vocal Arts Department at Juilliard. Most recently, she was Executive Director of Decoda, the New York City-based chamber ensemble, comprised of virtuoso musicians, entrepreneurs and passionate advocates of the arts.
