Julia Higdon received her doctorate in education research from the Harvard Graduate School of Education in May 2015 and holds Master’s degrees in Teaching (UNC at Greensboro) and in International Education Policy (Harvard Graduate School of Education). Combining her experience as a teacher and as an advanced applied education researcher, Julia brings both substantive and technical expertise to education research. Dedicated to making complex, cross-cultural statistical methods accessible to applied researchers, Julia has taught graduate courses in applied statistical analysis and secondary data analysis in the fields of education and social work.
As Senior Research Scientist in the Tiger Works Research & Development team, Julia currently conducts original research at Avenues: The World School on organizational health, teaching and learning, and global education, in cross-cultural perspective.
Julia is a co-author of Empowering Global Citizens: A World Course and Tolerance through education: Mapping the determinants of young people’s attitudes towards equal rights for immigrants and ethnic/racial minorities in Europe (Office of the European Commission), among other publications.
