Bronx Arena High School - Principal
Ty Cesene is the founding principal of Bronx Arena High School, a New York City high school exclusively serving overage and under-credited students. Previously, he was part of the New Visions For Public Schools team. There he supported the organization's network of 13 transfer schools, coaching principals and program directors, analyzing data, and working with NYCDOE offices to support schools exclusively serving overage, under-credited young people. Before locating to NYC, Cesene spent nine years as the co-director of Arena High School, a continuation school in southern California, and as director for Arena’s virtual high school, targeting at-risk students in the Los Angeles area. He completed his M.A. in Technology & Leadership in Education from Columbia Teachers College, and his B.A. in English from California State University of Long Beach.
