Historically, our national, state and local curriculum and classroom structures have not reflected/represented the perspectives or experience of all students, particularly students of color. This has become a critical factor in marginalizing the educational experience of many students and exacerbating inequity within educational systems and society at large.
The purpose of this session is to develop the foundation/structure for potential pilot programs that can immediately be tested within receptive districts and schools across the country. Rather than merely talk about equity, we want action plans for ideas that can be implemented and tested in the short term to address issues of equity.
