Summary

Why spend multiple class periods watching a feature, when you can watch a short film? For educators with limited class time, international short films are an excellent way to provide students with a digestible glimpse into the lives of young people from other cultures and countries. Highlighting examples from emerging to more experienced Canadian filmmakers, this viewing/discussion session will demonstrate how short films can be used to start conversations, break down barriers and satisfy curriculum needs. Festival films by notable Canadian filmmakers Carol Nguyen, Julianna Notten and Lina Roessler, will be shown among others in the short film programme.
