Summary

Pixar in a Box, a partnership between Pixar Animation Studios and Khan Academy, is a behind-the-scenes look at Pixar’s film-making pipeline and a free online STEAM education program. Through a series of instructional videos and interactive activities, students learn specific academic principles and see how core curriculum topics they are learning in school—in the areas of math, science, computer science, and humanities—are utilized every day for creative benefit at Pixar. This talk will be a demonstration of how the program works, giving an overview of the content and drilling into one lesson on how Pixar uses math to bring animated characters to life.
