Summary

Identity is a filter through which we view and interact with the world and how the world views and interacts with us. Understanding bias, identity-based bullying, and ways to combat them are key to providing a safe social-emotional environment. Explore the connection between personal identity and bias, examine the influence of bias, power and privilege on perceptions and behavior and ways to interrupt the escalation of hate. Engage in a combination of personal reflection and interactive group discussion focused on the multiple aspects of personal identity, how these relate to bullying behavior and the use of anti-bias principles to build empathy and interpersonal understanding.
