Summary

Storytelling is a major change agent used by politicians, journalists, businesspeople and scientists to convey ideas and frame conversations around important topics in our society. This panel will examine the ability students have to author and publish authentic, diverse stories unmediated by gatekeepers of information. We’ll discuss how to use social media, mobile devices and other digital tools to build empathy, create community and develop deeper thinking. Panelists will share successful storytelling practices from elementary through university levels that have empowered students to create stories that define themselves and affect positive change in society.
