Summary

Racism persists. Humans are biased. When problems are defined and solutions are created by biased individuals, or those promoting unintentionally racist ideologies, those biases persist. Design thinking, a powerful tool for problem solving and innovation, is lacking in its ability to adjust for bias and interrupt its persistence. In this session, we will explore what is missing in the current design thinking process and what a process that explicitly designs for equity built on the foundations of design thinking would look like.
