The Space between Technology and Disability
Wednesday, March 8
12:00PM - 12:30PM
Austin Convention Center - Ballroom EFG
Cornell University - Sr Extension Associate
Two years ago, I led a film crew to the Johnson Space Center in Houston to profile their disability employment practices. To survive in outer space, everyone has a disability, or no one has a disability—the great equalizer. The Space Between Technology and Disability will be an interactive, media-inspired dialogue that explores the relationship between space exploration and accessible technology. We will discuss how disability is a part of the human condition and how accessible instruction, design and engineering can advance living, learning and earning for all. This 30-minute dialogue will inspire excitement about this topic beyond the Playground, during and after SXSWedu.
