Summary

If you can see it, you can be it! Science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) professionals are important role models and volunteers who help kids envision STEM careers. Hear from diverse panelists who are STEM volunteers and engage STEM volunteers in educational programs. Explore how to describe a STEM career in a way that excites kids about STEM and learn what absolutely doesn’t work according to the research. Learn the “Recipe for Role Model Success” and fabulous resources including Latina SciGirls, FabFems, Texas STEM Connections (plus other state STEM connection systems), and the National STEM Role Model Directory for volunteers in classrooms, after school programs and beyond.
